BIO

Bill is a national leader in Superfund site cleanup and community revitalization. During his 31-year tenure at the EPA, Bill led multiple cleanup and redevelopment programs at the regional and national levels. He facilitated the cleanup, transfer and redevelopment of many Superfund sites throughout the Southeast and had a major influence on the development of national EPA policy related to the redevelopment of contaminated land. He is a frequent speaker at national conferences and has lectured on the topics of Superfund site redevelopment and environmental justice for graduate study programs at Emory University, Georgia State University, Georgia Tech and Harvard University. Bill believes that the best solutions are sustainable solutions that equally consider the impacts on people, prosperity and the planet. He is a tireless advocate for how converting contaminated properties to beneficial uses can help revitalize communities, bring together parties with multiple viewpoints to focus on a common goal, and help promote equitable development.
